At our meeting this past Thursday, we were honored to hear from Lane Calvert, our Assistant Governor, on “Preparing Youth to be Better Citizens and Future Rotarians.” Lane shared how his involvement in both Rotary and Scouting — now working hand-in-hand — helps shape the next generation of leaders. We also celebrated his recent appointment to the International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians at the Rotary International level — a well-deserved recognition of his service and dedication.

Our Rotary Club recently enjoyed a very informative tour of the newly renovated Ronald McDonald House of Orange County. This beautiful expansion has nearly doubled its capacity, growing from 20 to 44 guest rooms so that more families with children receiving care at CHOC can stay close together during difficult times. The House now offers many thoughtful new features, including a relaxing salon and spa, a calming sensory room, and separate playrooms designed for young children and teens. Families can also enjoy an expanded communal kitchen and dining area, as well as outdoor spaces and cozy gathering areas that encourage connection and support. The renovations ensure that families not only have a comfortable place to stay, but also a true home filled with care, love, and community.

Our Rotary Club extends its deepest condolences on the passing of Rotary International President-Elect Sangkoo Yun. His dedication to Rotary and to serving others was an inspiration to us all. May his memory be a blessing.
